Customer Care

The Dutailier Customer Service team has a main goal :

Help our customers choose the appropriate furniture for their family and enjoy it for years to come !

Find what you need in our menus.

Care of Our wood and finishes:

  • Wood is a living material, it is not uncommon to see a variation in the colour or to find certain natural spots on the frame.
  • Would you like an ottoman with your glider, we highly recommend to buy them at the same time to assure the match.
  • Avoid exposing your glider to the sun.
  • When cleaning your furniture, never use commercial products as they can affect the finish.
  • Use a soft cloth dipped in water and soap, wring well. Wipe with a soft dry cloth.

Leather Care:

Leather is a natural material and, when properly cared for, it will maintain its beauty and appearance for many years.

  • Keep it clean regularly, vacuum and dust frequently using a crevice tool for the seams.
  • Keep your leather furniture away from sun exposure and radiators or other intense heat generators.
  • Do not leave news paper on leather. The ink might rub onto the furniture.
  • Never use chemical products, solvents, stain removers or saddle soap: you could damage the leather.

Upholstery and Microfibre Care:

The micro-fibre on your glider offers an attractive and resistant finish. The material is versatile and easy to care for. Its natural finish will last many years if well cared of.

  • Vacuum your chair every 10-15 days.
  • Use a foam or a water base cleaning product.
  • Avoid exposure to the sun.
  • We strongly recommend you use the services of a professional furniture cleaning company.

Caution: Never remove cushion covers to separate for dry cleaning or washing, even if the cushion has a zipper. Do not use bleach at any time.

Cleaning precautions:
  • Liquid stains must first be wiped up with a paper towel.
  • Always put your cleaner on a damp white cotton cloth, never directly on the fabric.
  • Lightly rub, from the middle of the stain outwards, with a recommend solution from your dealer.
  • Rinse your cloth and wipe off the extra foam when washing stains.
  • Immediately dry with hot air, from the outside of the circle in.

Vinyl and fabrics Care:

Dutailier has over 250 fabrics offered in a large selection of patterns and colours, this to fit with your home furniture and decoration.

  • Fabrics may be cleaned by regular vacuuming.
  • An occasional light brushing will improve the look of your velvet.
  • Dry cleaning is not advised.
  • We recommend the services of professional furniture cleaner.

S:
Spot clean with a mild water-free product. We suggest you read the instructions carefully on these cleaning products before using them on your glider. We recommend the services of a professional furniture cleaner.
X:
Vacuum or lightly brush only to prevent accumulation of dust and grime. We recommend the services of a professional furniture cleaner.

Caution: Never remove cushion covers for dry cleaning. Do not use bleach at any time.

Pilling of certain fabrics:

Certain fabrics will pill off when new. Pilling is a characteristic of upholstery fabrics and results from excess fibre coming off the surface of the material. This is similar to the "fuzzing" experienced with a new carpet or a new sweater.

The best treatment is simply to shave lightly with a fabric shaver to remove the little balls and restore the original look. This may be repeated 3 to 4 times before the pilling stops.
